There is a lack of accountability for the project as a whole with the traditional architect/builder model whereas with design and build there is a clear accountability for the project as a whole.
Single Objective.
All stakeholders have the same objective under design and build and are working together towards a single common goal with one point of contact for your entire project.
Cost Transparency.
With the traditional architect approach there is little cost visibility for the build during the design stages. With design and build we will review costs during the design process and before planning so ensure there are no nasty surprises.
Timeline.
Due to simplifying the overly complicated traditional model and making communication lines easier the design and build model is significantly more efficient than the traditional architect and builder approch. Where clients are on a tight timeline Lowell can manage to be onsite 3-4 months after the initial concept meeting.
Buildability.
With design and build each project is designed in consultation with our on house build teams from the beginning avoiding lengthy discussions between the architect and build on site to resolve technical issues and potential re design.
Cost Effective.
Due to economies of scale design costs are typically lower than typical architchtural fees as they are offset against the build costs.
