Our team.

Jeremy Smith

Jeremy is the Director at Lowell and oversees both the Architectural and Build side of the Practice on a day to day basis. Having been a property developer for over 10 years Jeremy discovered first hand the problems with the traditional architect/builder approach and created a single design and build team at Lowell to eliminate these issues. As comfortable designing houses as he is managing site Jeremy has an excellent all round knowledge having built over 20 homes in central London. When not at work (which is not very often!) Jeremy can be found visiting the capitals’ art galleries and restaurants.

Adam Chequer

Adam is one of the Senior Architects at Lowell and has over 10 years experience working on residential projects in London. Having worked at some of Londons top architectural firms Adam joined Lowell to help develop the design side of the practice. Adam takes pride in exploring all options to ensure the best possible solution to each project, responding sensitively to the context of each project and the clients' brief. Adam has a particular interest in materials and textures, he can often be found buried in a pile of samples. In his spare time, Adam is a keen footballer and loves cooking for friends and family, and has been known to serve up a mean risotto.

Sarah Mcnamara

Sarah is one of our project architects at Lowell and has over 10 years experience working on residential projects in London. She loves to create spaces that improve wellbeing, inspire creativity and are tailored to the client’s brief. Her approach to design considers both the building’s current and future occupants; using unique materials, inclusivity, and sustainability as key foundations for a project. In her spare time, you will often find Sarah playing football or doing Pilates and London’s varied music scene. A keen cook, she loves nothing more than cooking a big lasagne or curry for her friends and family.

James Dadley

James joined Lowell Design and Build in 2023 as an Architectural Assistant after completing his RIBA Part I and Part II qualifications at Northumbria University. He is passionate about delivering soulful, client-focused  architectural designs that responds to it’s existing environmental conditions and the requirements of the end user.

James previously worked at MawsonKerr Architects in Newcastle upon Tyne. Working on a number of projects across a range of sectors. Notably delivering one-off innovative low embodied carbon, high energy efficiency homes across the North East and the Scottish Borders. When away from his desk you will likely find him in one of London’s many climbing centres or hiking along the Northumberland coast.

Hisham Khalifa

Hish is our Senior Site Manager. Following in his family’s footsteps Hish became a carpenter after leaving school and then moved from the North of England to London at the age of 18 to pursue a career in Product Design via Central Saint Martins. Since then Hish has found himself working across multi disciplined industry sectors, sharpening his skills as an experienced carpenter/builder before qualifying as a Site Manager in 2014.

To switch off Hish enjoy bouldering, kayaking and will soon be adding spending time with my newly born daughter and wife taking road trips and camping along the good old British coastline.

Hish is a friendly giant and a very approachable guy on site.
